Redefining Climate Financing: How Indigenous Led Funds (ILFs) are Shaping Equitable and Accessible Climate Solutions

The event will be an engaging panel discussion with representatives of Indigenous Peoples Led Funds (ILFs) to shed light on critical role Indigenous Peoples are playing in reshaping the traditional climate financing by making it accessible to the Indigenous Peoples. As COP29 sets a new climate finance goal, the donor community should engage with
ILFs that are transforming traditional funding practices to better meet the needs of Indigenous Peoples.
Objective of the session:
• Facilitate a dialogue on the values and strategies of Indigenous-led funds in advancing climate action for Indigenous Peoples and their communities?
• Explore how emerging climate finance goals can be effectively and strategically aligned to address the specific the needs and priorities of Indigenous Peoples?
• Identify actionable pathways to mobilize resources, both within and beyond the donor community, for climate action initiatives centered on Indigenous leadership and participation
