The Indigenous Philanthropy Institute is a dynamic learning space designed to educate funders on strengthening and adopting funding strategies that uphold the rights and values of Indigenous Peoples. Centered on cultivating value-based partnerships and effectively resourcing Indigenous communities, the institute empowers them to address opportunities and challenges with resilience. Recognizing the significant underfunding of Indigenous Women-led initiatives, IFIP established Aunties in Philanthropy to strengthen connections and nurture relationships that bridge Indigenous communities globally. In many Indigenous cultures, "Aunties" serve as pillars of support and wisdom. The inaugural Aunties in Philanthropy Gathering in May 2022 marked the start of a movement toward equity, understanding, and collective action to empower Indigenous Women in the philanthropic landscape.
