This Joint Statement recognizes Indigenous midwifery as an essential expression of Indigenous knowledge, leadership, and self-determination. It calls for greater recognition, protection, and investment in Indigenous-led health systems that uphold the rights, knowledge, and well-being of Indigenous Peoples.
