Marisa Viana da Silva is an Indigenous feminist from the Brazilian Amazon, a connector, movement builder, and strategist with more than 20 years of experience advancing gender, sexual, and reproductive justice across social movements, public health, philanthropy, and global advocacy.

Raised in a caboclo river community and the first person in her family to attend school, Marisa’s commitment to justice is rooted in her lived experience and in supporting the leadership of communities historically excluded from decision-making. She currently serves as a Program Officer at the Ford Foundation, co-leading a global grantmaking portfolio focused on preventing gender-based violence and strengthening gender justice ecosystems.
