Indigenous Ways of Giving and Sharing: Indigenous-led Funds Landscape Scan Report, commissioned by the International Funders for Indigenous Peoples in 2020, serves as both a knowledge-sharing space and a call to action. It brings together the voices and wisdom of Indigenous-led funds and leaders in philanthropy, offering funders a chance to learn from decolonial approaches to grantmaking rooted in Indigenous values. The report invites the philanthropic community to reflect on power dynamics, listen deeply, and embrace Indigenous worldviews. By centering Indigenous leadership and making space for cultural practices of giving and sharing, it envisions a transformative shift in philanthropy toward respect, recognition, and equity.
